Introduction

All websites are registered with an Internet governing body. The registration information contains contact information, the location and identity of the owner. You can access this information easily through GhostSurf's WHOIS utility. "WHOIS" is an Internet service that provides this information. If you see a website in the Privacy Control Center and you'd like to know who owns it, right-click it and choose "Whois this?" from the menu that appears. This will bring up the WHOIS utility, shown above.

Looking up others

You can look up another website by typing its name into the domain box, shown at the top of the WHOIS utility window. Then click the "Lookup" button; the information will appear below.
